Missouri Traffic FTA Rules
The charge classification matters. Missouri law provides a notice and second-date process for certain Chapter 307 traffic infractions rather than an arrest warrant solely for failing to respond, pay, or appear. Other traffic, municipal, contempt, or probation matters can follow different rules. Ask the clerk what the ticket is classified as and whether the missed event was the first summons or a later compliance date.
A separate Department of Revenue process may follow a failure-to-appear report. The court reports the event and later reports compliance or final judgment. The FACT reinstatement route uses a court receipt and a state fee, while a lieu-of-bail release uses a court release order and is not the same type of suspension. Keep the document the court issues.
Bates Traffic Court Contacts
The official county court page identifies the circuit and traffic court contact.

Butler also publishes payment methods for eligible municipal tickets, but payment availability does not mean every appearance can be avoided. Ask whether the exact citation is payable, whether a judge must act, and whether any warrant or state report will be released after payment. Rich Hill’s ordinance likewise describes payment in lieu only for eligible offenses before the scheduled date.
Never send money from an unsolicited call or text. Confirm the accepted channel using an official city or county page and request a receipt.
After Traffic Compliance
Completion has two parts: the court case and any Department of Revenue consequence. Ask the clerk for a receipt or release order and the date the court reports compliance. Then follow the exact DOR route that applies to the record. Do not assume that paying a ticket instantly recalls a warrant, clears a missed-date entry, or restores a license. Recheck the court docket and retain proof. If a judge requires appearance, payment alone may leave the court order unresolved.
